David Hasselhoff will be at the Gold Coast Supanova Pop Culture Expo in Australia this month. The fan convention at the Gold Coast will be April 19-21 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Center. David is keen to hang out with his fans."If you haven't been to one of these fan conventions, then get ready," he said."I doubt you've been to anything else quite like ... they're a bit like a one very big Halloween party. People come from everywhere to meet their favourite stars and most of them dress up." Hasselhoff would be surprised if he didn't see fans channelling characters from his TV hits The Young and the Restless, Knight Rider and Baywatch."I sing at concerts and go to parties all the time where almost everyone in the room is dressed-up to look like me. I suppose you sort of get used to it," he said. He remembered one fan who presented her butt cheek to show him a tattooed picture of himself and asked him to autograph it.With a stellar cast of guests, heaps of interactive comps and events, masses of retailers and Artist Alley vendors, legends of the industry such as Weta from New Zealand and so much more, from the worlds of film, TV, anime, gaming, comic-books, authors and more! David 'The Hoff' Hasselhoff has joined Supanova's celebration of geekery, gaming and gadgetry on the Gold Coast.The Knight Rider actor posed for photographs and signed autographs for Supanova fans on Sunday, as he rode in a replica KITT car from the classic television series in a parade down Broadbeach Mall.The Hoff was a TV institution in the '80s as Michael Knight, before hitting mega-stardom in the early '90s as Mitch Buchannon on Baywatch.For those who do not believe The Hoff has enough geek cred for Supanova, it’s worth noting a 1998 telemovie called Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.That's right, The Hoff was Nick Fury before Samuel L. Jackson.Supanova is a pop-culture expo where patrons revel in the opportunity to dress as their childhood heroes. Crowds can be made up of Stormtroopers, Pokemons and Wizards of Middle-earth.However, dressed in a conservative black buttoned shirt and jeans on Sunday, The Hoff looked more like a high school teacher than a modern day knight fighting crime with the help of an artificially intelligent and nearly indestructible car.The expo, now in its 11th year, is held in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Adelaide.More than 120,000 patrons attend Supanova annually to dress up, trade rare collectables and pay upwards of $100 for a photo with their favourite celebrity from yesteryear.
