Friday David Hasselhoff was spotted by WENN photographers as he checked out some of the entries of this years Gumball 3000. Fans had high hopes of seeing him in the race as it started on Saturday, but sadly the actor had to back out last minute due to his father's sudden poor health.Early on there were reports that David might make an appearance at the Santa Monica Pier to wave the checkered flag and see the race off; but in the end the honnor was given to Dennis Rodman.It is unknown if David will try to pick up the race at one of the other city stopovers as the race heads to Miami Florida.
