David Hasselhoff, 56, was born in Baltimore. He began acting at seven and got his big break in the US soap The Young And The Restless. He went on to star in Knight Rider in the 80s and later Baywatch. The first part of the documentary The Hoff: When Scott Came To Stay airs on Living on Monday.When were you happiest?When I was doing Knight Rider.What is your greatest fear?Not working and not being able to continue to live this lifestyle.

What is your earliest memory? Standing in my grandmother's sink when I was one, being washed and looking out of the window as the horse-drawn carts delivered fruit and vegetables to Baltimore.Which living person do you most admire, and why? My father, because he's a positive man with an enormous amount of compassion. My mother passed away four days ago.What is the trait you most deplore in yourself? Holding a grudge.What is the trait you most deplore in others? Rudeness and racism.What would your super power be? To hypnotise the world to get along.What makes you miserable?
