A Hollywood heartthrob for the past four decades thanks to his roles on The Young and the Restless, Knight Rider and Baywatch, actor David Hasselhoff is definitely the cat’s meow in the eyes of feline-loving fans after using his star wattage to shine a spotlight on orphan animals during his recent visit to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.The pop culture icon recently popped in to see some of the 150 cats and 450 dogs who are currently being cared for at the renowned animal welfare organization. During their stay the Hoff and his girlfriend Hayley Roberts not only posed with a purrer who is hoping to land a starring role with a forever family, but also spent time with a few of the center’s many Staffordshire Bull Terriers who, like their canine counterparts in the US, are having a hard time finding homes. “It saddens me that people are quick to judge these beautiful creatures.†Hasselhoff, a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, stated. †Staffies are amazing, cuddly dogs and it’s about time people gave them a chance.â€â€œBattersea really is an incredible place and as an owner of several dogs I had an unforgettable experience seeing the animals today. I hope that every dog and cat here finds the loving new home they deserve and if anyone is thinking about getting a companion then they should definitely go to Battersea.â€
